Join us for an inspiring, enjoyable and informative introduction to Nurse Coaching.  Our healthcare system is going through a period of change with a focus on prevention, self care and health promotion.  Within this process, nursing is taking on new areas of practice.  While coaching is intrinsic to nursing, the development and promotion of the Nurse Coach role is a recent addition.  It provides an opportunity for nurses to reconnect with the deep human caring aspect of nursing that originally drew them to the profession.

Nurse coaches partner with patients/clients in improving their overall wellness, helping them to make personal choices that support the well-being of body, mind and spirit.  In our model, nurse coaching includes clinical meditation, imagery, awareness and energy practices as part of nurse self-care and helping others.

Learn and practice some of the skills that are inherent to the role of Nurse Coach. Information about Board Certification in Nurse Coaching will also be presented.  You will leave this class with a new perspective on your nursing practice and skills that can immediately be brought into both your clinical work and your personal life.

  • Nurses needing 10 continuing education hours to be applied  toward their RN license renewals and recertifications.
  • Nurses working toward Board Certification in Holistic Nursing.

I often have difficulty preparing for certification exams when just using textbooks & other written source material  It often seems “dry” and didactic.  This online course enriched the material helping me retain the information because it is fleshed out with exploration and examples of concepts. I found the various open ended questions for different parts of the nurse coach process helpful and affirming. I would recommend this course to others who want a more enlivened approach to learning.  Very helpful prep for the NC-BC exam. S. P. Certified oncology RN, Transpersonal Nurse Coach, spiritual director

Transpersonal Development: Cultivating Peace, Wisdom, Purpose and Oneness

Next program: April 18 – 20, 2018

Transpersonal Development is the art and science of awakening the innate potentials in our patients, clients and for our own well-being. These potentials are inner peace, inner wisdom, the drive toward life purpose, and connection and oneness. This course provides you with both the theoretical framework and step-by-step methods to awaken these potentials and empower patients and clients with self-care skills.

  • The meaning of transpersonal – human nature beyond the personality
  • The transpersonal tradition – William James, Carl Jung, Roberto Assagioli
  • Neuroscience discoveries relating to transpersonal consciousness
  • Assagioli’s psychosynthesis places the transpersonal within human development
  • The four transpersonal potentials of peace, wisdom, purpose and oneness
  • Safe, effective, time-tested transpersonal methods
  • Classic obstacles to the four potentials
  • How our transpersonal nature, once awakened, can help our vulnerability
  • Transpersonal development and wellness
  • Examples of transpersonal work in cancer care, PTSD, end of life care and addictions recovery
  • Transpersonal work can be integrated into all healthcare settings including private practice.
  • Words cannot express the depth of how this experience has brought me to where I  want to be –helping patients to access “something else” in their lives.
  • Simply put, this study was my ‘aha’ moment …
  • What I learned and experienced in these workshops I feel is at the foundation of other energetic modalities. A human being’s essence, their true self, their deepest hope is sought through awareness practices and imagery.  Transpersonal coaching or connecting with another beyond the personality is the essence of holistic care.
  • Bonney and Richard are gifted teachers, storytellers and scholars. They include the fields of neuroscience, psychology, spirituality, and the arts.  The workshop is personal and respectful. You’ll spend your time either sitting in a circle with the whole group or in smaller groups of 2-3. And there is New York at your doorstep! Long lunchtime breaks and evenings off give you lots of time to take in the neighborhood around Union Sq.
